Children First: Survey of School Nurses in Georgia, January 2006 (report by Dr. Kathie Aduddell, Kennesaw University) findings: • 85% school nurses in Georgia have cared for at least one child with diabetes. • 60% of those nurses surveyed had 1-5 children with insulin dependent diabetes to take care of each day • 14% of nurses surveyed had 6-10 children with insulin dependent diabetes to take care of each day.

The Diabetes Educator Certificate Course is a 3-day seminar designed for clinicians who care for persons with diabetes but who have not received specialized entry-level training in diabetes disease management. Multi-discipline health care teams interested in organizing or improving a diabetes program are especially encouraged to attend.

Many people in the Greater Atlanta Area who have diabetes
cannot afford healthcare.

Good Samaritan Health Clinic is a Christian Clinic with a mission to provide quality healthcare for those who cannot afford it. The clinic has an enrollment of over 600 diabetes patients; most of whom work with no health insurance.
