President’s Message

Each day in nearly every community in our region, there are people who benefit from a diabetes educator’s services. We have the knowledge, desire and educational objectives to help people with diabetes improve their quality of life. Diabetes educators help reduce the burden of diabetes. What a wonderful and rewarding job!
Membership in the Greater Atlanta Association of Diabetes Educators (GAADE) and AADE has helped shape my practice, inspired me to become a better educator, provided an opportunity for personal growth, and furnished a way for me to meet wonderful people who have been willing to serve as role models and mentors. Participation in GAADE has helped me to strive for evidenced based practice.
One key to happiness is to feel good about the job we do. Another key to happiness is to have a friend. Participation in GAADE can help with both.
When we join together we learn how to improve the care we give and consequently enjoy better outcomes for our efforts. GAADE allows us to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team. We grow through GAADE’s
