A Practical Approach to Treatment & Prevention

Diabetes Educator Certificate Course

Target Audience

This three day seminar is open to professionals of the health care team including nurses, dietitians, pharmacists, social workers and others with present or planned involvement in the management and education of individuals with diabetes. Multi-discipline health care teams interested in organizing or improving a diabetes program are especially encouraged to attend. Professionals preparing to take the Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) examination will find the course facilitates their study.

Time is allocated for observations in the clinical setting with members of the health care team of your choice.

Enrollment will be limited to 15 participants per session.

Course Requirements

Degree or diploma in a health profession
This course is designed for clinicians who care for persons with diabetes in their general practice but who have not recevied specialized entry-level training in diabetes disease management
This course is also open to students preparing to take their licensure examination
